Repairman Jack is back! An anonymous mercenary, with no last name and no social security number, Jack has thrilled a veritable army of readers ever since his bestselling debut in The Tomb. Jack can fix any problem, supernatural or otherwise, for a price. Now, in his latest gripping adventure, he takes on two cases at once.

The first involves a nun being blackmailed by someone who has photos of her she doesn't want made public. What's in those photos, she won't say, but with her meager savings just about exhausted, she hires Jack to help her.

The second seems straightforward enough, as an elderly woman hires Jack to find her missing son. But to locate his quarry, Jack must infiltrate the inner reaches of the Dormentalist Church, a secretive, globe-spanning cult whose members include some of the biggest and most powerful names in entertainment, sports, and politics. Ruthless in its pursuit of critics and enemies, the Church hides a sinister agenda known only to its ruling elite.

But Jack can be ruthless, too, going to darker lengths than ever before as he crisscrosses the two fix-it jobs to settle the deadliest of scores!

Jamie could tell from Jack’s expression that this wasn’t what he wanted to hear. It almost seemed as if he’d been expecting a certain description and this wasn’t it. “Anyway,” Blascoe said, “the dream guy was talking about my inner spirit, something he called my xelton, being split, with half of it sleeping within, half of it somewhere else. “When I woke up I knew that was it: the calling card for my commune…like it had been handed to me. I mean, it was all there, and perfect. Finding the Real You, the Inner You sleeping in your mind—any pitch with “mind” in it was a sure grabber in those days—and achieving some sort of mystical natural harmony.

Looks like we’re starting to move. ” Jensen peered ahead. The jam seemed to be breaking up. Good. They still had a ways to go. “Think it’s gonna matter? ” Lewis said. “They’ve gotta be gone by now. ” Jensen shook his head. “No, they’re still up there. The WA we’ve been watching has a long story, and it’s going to take some time to tell. ” “But if they’re smart they’ll get him out of there and to a safe house where they won’t be interrupted. ” “Not if the WA refuses to leave. ” And he wouldn’t dare. 19 “I’ve gotten kind of used to weird,” Jack told Blascoe, “so don’t hold back.

When I got in his face about it, Brady tried to distract me with women and booze and drugs. But that wasn’t gonna work. Hey, I’m older now. I’ve experienced just about everything I ever wanted to. Maybe more. “But the globe was just the fuse that lit me up. Dormentalism was my baby but it had changed to the point where I no longer recognized it. No, forget recognizing it—I was embarrassed by it. Do you know that to reach the upper levels you not only have to spend a fortune, but you’ve got to swear off sex!

But Man and Woman rebelled against the Presence by believing they were the true Lords of Creation. This so displeased the Presence that It sundered Creation, dividing it in half. The Presence erected the Wall of Worlds to separate this, the Home world, from its twin, the Hokano world. These two parallel hemi-creations are mirrors of each other. Therefore each object in the Home world, living or inanimate, material or immaterial, has an exact counterpart in the Hokano world—separate but intimately linked.

Jack went through them quickly and found mostly papers and pens and notepads with From the Minds of Luther Brady emblazoned across the top of each page in some fancy heraldic font. Sheesh. The only thing out of the ordinary was a stainless-steel semiautomatic pistol. At first glance it looked like his own PT 92 Taurus, then he noticed the different safety, making this a Beretta 92. A box of 9mm Hydra-Shok Federal Classics sat next to it. What made Brady think he needed a weapon? Coming up empty in the drawers, Jack felt around under the edge of the desktop.
