Format: PDF / Kindle (mobi) / ePub
From New York Times bestselling author Angie Fox
Even during a truce, Dr. Petra Robichaud has her hands full as the M*A*S*H surgeon to an army of warring gods—especially when Medusa herself turns up pregnant. Petra has no idea what to expect when a gorgon’s expecting, but she won’t let it turn her to stone. As the healer-hero of an ancient prophesy, it’s Petra’s job to keep the peace. But as the lover to a warrior demi-god, she knows how impossible some jobs can be…
Commander Galen is sexy, strong, and sworn to lead his team to hell and back. But when he announces to Petra that he can no longer risk her life for his love, the doctor is on her own…Until a mysterious new entity—in the form of a hot-blooded male—enters the picture. Can he be trusted? Can he be resisted? Meanwhile, an oracle delivers another prophesy that places Petra back on the frontlines with the man she may be bound to for eternity—in love, or in war…

The guard narrowed his eyes at me. “I can see why you drove into the hell vent,” he said to Oghul. The berserker grunted. “Too bad I had to drag them out, eh? ” They shared a chuckle at the completely unfunny joke while I harbored a particularly graphic fantasy about those orders and the Mongol’s rather large nostrils. “Everything’s in order,” the guard said, returning the paperwork to Oghul, who shoved it back into his sweaty breastplate. “You can continue the transport. ” Oghul nodded and started walking.
Good. ” That’s all I’d needed to know. As eager as I was to get back to the lab, this was one of the parts of being a doctor that I enjoyed the most. Medusa might like to thrash her tail, but I knew she was taking good care of herself and her baby. I sent her up front to schedule her eighteen-week ultrasound. Then I stayed behind to change the paper on her exam table and grab the leftover water bottle. It wasn’t my job to clean up the room, but in a way I felt like I owed it to the poor gorgon not to have that nurse in here with her wrinkled nose and her prejudices.
If it does have something to do with the prophecies, you have to do it,” he said. Avoiding fate could spell disaster. “My pack leader always used to say things happen for a reason. ” Rodger shook his head. “I mean, here I am. ” It was eerily unsettling how Rodger had arrived home early. That even before I’d seen Marc, events had been set in motion that would allow me to get out of camp and confront the murdered Dr. Keller. If I actually had the guts to do it. “It’s the little things, remember? ” he said, repeating my words back to me.
No doubt the television in the mess tent would be tuned to the Paranormal News Network. PNN was the only channel it got. With my shower caddy in one hand and the other clutching my robe closed, I made it all the way to the south side of camp in three minutes flat. “Is it still on? ” I asked one of the motor pool guys as he held the door open for me. I don’t think he’d planned on it. It’s more like I barged past him. “Nice outfit,” he said, giving me the once-over. “I like the new you. ” “Can it, Lazio. ” “You’d better watch out,” he called after me.
I know it, Marc, because I’ve had the real you. I had you when you were sweating it out with me on the roof of your walk-up. I had you when we couldn’t think of anything but what it would be like to finally graduate and be together. I had you when I found that ring. ” It was like I’d slapped him. “I was going to ask you on your last day of residency. ” All the fire drained out of me. They’d come and gotten him the Sunday before. “I know. ” “How? ” The pain in his eyes stole my breath away. “Because I know you, Marc.
